Golden Rams Fall to #1 Rochester 70-47

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team fell to #1 ranked Rochester 70-47 on Wednesday evening in Rochester.

The Golden Rams, who have been playing with seven players, fought valiantly during the first quarter to trail by nine points before the Yellowjackets started to pull away.

Rochester entered the game averaging over 90 points per game and outscoring teams by more than 40 points.

Turnovers ended up being the achilles heel for the Golden Rams who committed 24 compared to just six for Rochester, allowing the Yellowjackets to attempt 18 more shots than Anoka-Ramsey.

CeCe Bell scored 28 points and hauled in 17 rebounds, 10 on the offensive end.

Mikayla Kanenwisher, playing with a broken wrist on her dominant arm, scored eight points while adding four rebounds and six assists.

Anoka-Ramsey is 15-8 overall, 5-6 in MCAC games, and must win their final two regular season games in order to tie Western Tech for the fourth and final spot in the post-season.

The Golden Rams host Western Tech on Saturday before concluding the regular season on Sunday at St. Cloud Tech.  If the Golden Rams tie with Western Tech for fourth in the standings a play-in game will be held to determine the #4 seed from the Southern Division.
