Balanced Attack Leads to Win for Women's Basketball

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team hosted M|State Fergus Falls in their first MCAC contest of the season, and came away with a 62-46 victory at home.

The Golden Rams took a 21-12 lead early in the second quarter after a Mikayla Kanenwisher three before the Spartans pulled within six at halftime.

Five straight points from Sydney Kehr to open the third quarter pushed the lead up to 11 for Anoka-Ramsey.

Tough defense in the third by the Golden Rams held M|State to just seven points in building a 15 point lead.

M|State managed to trim the deficit to eight points mid-way through the fourth before four straight points from Kimori Morris ended the Spartan run, and kick-started a 12-3 Anoka-Ramsey run to put the game away.

Anoka-Ramsey held a 42-38 edge in rebounds and made seven threes to just two for the Spartans.

The Golden Rams had a balanced scoring attack led by Janea Arnoldi who scored 13 points while adding nine rebounds.

Kanenwisher and Kehr each had 12 points.

Destiny Casey scored 11 points, and CeCe Bell added ten.

Anoka-Ramsey ends a two-game slide and improves their record to 11-2 overall.
