Women's Basketball Defeats Riverland Despite Off Night Shooting

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team overcame a cold night shooting to defeat Riverland 54-40 on Saturday afternoon in Austin.

The Golden Rams shot a season-low 11.1 percent from the three-point line, connecting on just 4 of 36 attempts.

But the Golden Ram defense held Riverland to just 26 percent shooting overall and forced 18 turnovers to pull out the road win.

Anoka-Ramsey led by just three at halftime, but outscored Riverland 23-11 in the third to pull away.

Abby Howe scored 14 points while pulling in six rebounds.

Adaya Sandifer scored 12 points, adding six assists.

The Golden Rams remain alone in first place of the MCAC Southern Division with a 5-0 record, 14-5 overall.

Anoka-Ramsey will take a break of league play with a home non-conference game against the Bethel JV on Wednesday, February 5 at 5:30pm.
