The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Basketball team fought back from some early game struggles to defeat Itasca Community College at the buzzer 78-76 on Friday evening.
With 1.6 seconds remaining, Daron Mainville received an inbounds pass underneath the Golden Ram basket and beat the buzzer to give Anoka-Ramsey the win.
The Golden Rams fell behind by as many as 15 points in the first half as foul trouble plagued the team and Itasca was able to take a 42-32 lead into halftime.
Anoka-Ramsey continued to fight throughout the second half, but couldn't seem to gain much ground.
A late run in the fourth quarter put the game within reach and set up the last second heroics.
Anoka-Ramsey shot just 35.4 percent from the field, but pulled in a season high 32 offensive rebounds to offset the shooting woes.
Mainville finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds, her second double-double of the season.
Rashonna Thomas finsihed with 21 points.
Za'Keea Sa'eed-El scored eight points and pulled in 11 rebounds.
