Softball Tops Ridgewater in Doubleheader

The Golden Rams newly ranked NJCAA DIII #8 team in the country didn't disappoint yesterday with a resounding sweep of the Ridgewater Warriors winning by the scores of 23-1 & 19-1 in 5-innings. The team pounded out 39 hits and hit eight homeruns on the day. There were many outstanding hitting performances yesterday, but a few stand out:

Lyla Galli went 4-4 and hit two towering homeruns to along with seven RBIs in game one. Galli currently leads the nation in RBIs.

Kelsey Henninger hit a grand slam, her 1st career HR, knocked in five runs, and went a perfect 4-4 in game two.

Emma Bright had seven hits, scored seven runs and six stolen bases. Bright currently leads the country in runs scored and stolen bases.

Maddie Bottineau went 6-7 collecting 7 RBIs with a homerun and 2 2B's. Bottineau is currently 3rd in the country in doubles.

Emma Hurd got on base a perfect 9-9 times collecting four hits and five base on balls. Hurd also scored eight runs and is 2nd in the nation in runs scored.

And in game two, Molly Gross, Alyssa Meadows and Bottineau hit back, to back, to back HR's. Only the 2nd time that this has happened during Coach Alto's tenure.

Picking up the pitching wins for the Golden Rams were Gross and Galli. Gross struck out 12 and walking zero, while Galli struck out six and only allowing three hits.

Anoka-Ramsey CC is now 28-9 (8-0 in the MCAC Southern Division). Next up is a date today, Tuesday, April 25, with the #6 St. Cloud CTC Cyclones at home.
