The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Softball team picked up three hard fought wins on day two of the MCAC Crossover defeating Itasca 11-7, Rainy River 15-7 and Central Lakes 6-3.

The first game of the day pitted the Golden Rams against the Kyle Erickson coached Vikings in a rematch from when the two played in Florida with the Golden Rams coming out on top.

Just like the first time the two teams played, Itasca jumped out to an early 5-0 lead before Anoka-Ramsey came storming back. The Golden Rams tied the game after three innings and then took command the rest of the way for the 11-7 victory.

Once again the Golden Rams were led on offense by freshman Ashton Prachar (Rush City) who was 4-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's.

Also contributing offensively was freshman Lindsey Swanson (Irondale) with 3 hits and 2 RBI's, sophomore Becca Liebelt (Columbia Heights) with 2 hits and 2 RBI's and sophomore Shannon Olson (Andover) with 2 RBI's.

Picking up her first win of the season was sophomore Alexus Martin-Warren (Andover) who scattered 10 hits while striking out 3 in 5 innings of work. Sophomore Quincy Gross (Columbia Heights) came in to finish the final two innings striking out 4 to earn her 1st save.

After a short break, Anoka-Ramsey kept their bats on fire and pounded out 17 hits in its win over Rainy River.

The Golden Rams scored in every inning to carve out the win courtesy of the 8-run rule in 5 innings. The team had a record number of players contribute with multi-hit games.

Not surprisingly, the leader of the offensive attack was Ashton Prachar who went 3-4 with 3 runs scored, 4 RBI's including her 1st collegiate 3-run bomb over the left field fence.

Also contributing to the offensive fire show were Bailey Cole (So, Anoka) with 2 hits, Alexus Martin-Warren who went 3-3 with 3 runs scored, 2 doubles and 3 RBI's.

Shannon Olson had 3 hits and 2 RBI's and sisters Becca and JoJo Liebelt (Columbia Heights) who had 2 hits a piece. Lindsey Swanson picked up her 3rd win of the season for the Golden Rams.

The final game of the crossover was a hard fought, grind it out win over Central Lakes 6-3.

Playing their 5th game in less than 36 hours, the Golden Rams summoned all the energy they had left to get the "W".

Anoka-Ramsey could only manage 4 hits but they were able to workout nine base on balls which was too much for the Raiders to overcome. Sophomore Bailey Cole was the spark plug offensively for the Golden Rams batting out of the lead-off position. Bailey was 2-2 while scoring 4 runs and stealing 2 bases.

Quincy Gross was in the circle the entire game striking out 12 and giving up 0 earned runs. Quincy picked up her 3rd consecutive win and her 4th of the season. With the 5-0 weekend, Anoka-Ramsey moved its record to 8-10 winning their past 6 in a row.

The Golden Rams open up MCAC Southern Division play on Tuesday, April 4 in Fergus Falls against M-State before returning for their home opener Friday, April 7 against Riverland at 3 and 5 pm in Cambridge.
