Men's Basketball Falls to Central Lakes in NJCAA Playoffs

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team saw their season come to an end with a dramatic 97-89 overtime loss to Central Lakes in the NJCAA Region XIII tournament on Friday evening.

The Golden Rams battled back from a 25 point second half deficit to take a one point lead, 82-81 with two minutes left in regulation.  Central Lakes scored the next three points to go back up by two before a Micah Adkins dunk tied the score with 11 seconds to go and send the game to overtime.

Anoka-Ramsey took an early three point lead in the extra frame, but an 8-0 Raider run gave Central Lakes the lead for good.

Adkins led Anoka-Ramsey with 21 points on 8 of 14 shooting.

Chaz Franklin scored 19 points making 7 of 14 from the field.

Ibrahim El-Amin tallied 16 points, while adding four steals.

Tearrel Fields scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Anoka-Ramsey shot 41.4 percent and made 25 of 33 free throws.

The Golden Rams end the season 13-15 overall.
