Men's Basketball Wins Third Straight Game

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team defeated Ridgewater 86-64 for their third straight victory to start MCAC play.

The Golden Rams controlled the game from the paint, repeatedly going inside against the smaller Warriors, attempting a season-low 12 threes.

Chaz Franklin connected on a jumper at the 13 minute mark to give Anoka-Ramsey a double digit lead in the first half, which ballooned to 19 points at halftime after an 8-0 run to end the half.

The lead expanded to 23 points and the Warriors were unable to get the deficit back into single digits as the Golden Rams answered any Ridgewater run.

Anoka-Ramsey shot 54.4 percent overall and out-rebounded Ridgewater 49-26 including a 14-4 edge on the offensive glass.

Rodney Owens paced Anoka-Ramsey with 24 points and ten rebounds, with Albert Tinnel adding 22 points and ten boards.

Ten different players scored for the Golden Rams.

Anoka-Ramsey improves to 8-5 overall and will host Minnesota West on Sunday at 3:00pm
