Men's Basketball Rebounds with First MCAC Win

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team ended their two game skid with a 79-61 win over M|State Fergus Falls to open the MCAC portion of their schedule Thursday night.

Leading 15-12, the Golden Rams used an extended 17-4 run to open the game up over an eight minute stretch of the first half and led by 14 at the break.

Anoka-Ramsey led by 16 with 13 minutes to go but went on an 8-0 run to lead 61-37 with ten minutes to play and held off any Spartan run to win.

The Golden Rams shot 49.2 percent overall and made 13 free throws to just two for M|State.

Anoka-Ramsey held a 43-31 edge in rebounds.

Rodney Owens led all scorers with 24 points on 11 of 18 from the field and seven rebounds.

Albert Tinnel finished with 17 points and eight boards, and Ellis Todd scored 11 points.

Anoka-Ramsey improves to 6-5 overall and will travel to Riverland on Sunday, January 8.
