Baseball Picks Up Two Wins vs. MN West

Game 1: Anoka-Ramsey 10 - MN West 6

Anoka-Ramsey Community College snatched a lead late in the game in a 10-6 victory over Minnesota West Community and Technical College on Sunday.

Anoka-Ramsey collected 11 hits and Minnesota West had seven in the high-scoring affair.

The Blue Jays got on the board in the first inning when Migual Garcia hit a solo homer.

Minnesota West scored three runs in the second inning when Garcia hit his second home run of the game.

Gerhig Monday started the game for Minnesota West. The righty surrendered five runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out four. Brandon Klink started the game for Anoka-Ramsey. Klink allowed two hits and four runs over two innings, striking out two.

Nate Tillman was credited with the victory for the Golden Rams. The righty allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one.

Peyton Engelking took the loss for Minnesota West. Engelking allowed two hits and five runs over one inning.

Minnesota West socked three home runs on the day. Garcia had a four bagger in the first and second innings. Rodrigo Santa had a homer in the fourth inning.

The Golden Rams racked up 11 hits in the game. Kyler StuartTrevor AdamsHunter Smith, and Brandon Watkins each racked up multiple hits.

 

Game 2: Anoka-Ramsey 8 - MN West 4

An early lead helped Anoka-Ramsey Community College defeat Minnesota West Community and Technical College 8-4 on Sunday.

Anoka-Ramsey scored on a fielder's choice by Jake Kouri in the first inning, a walk by Hunter Wavinak, a double by Chance Appell, a single by Mike Schroer, and then a single by Kouri in the second inning.

Benji Bruce got the win for the Golden Rams for his first college victory. The righthander lasted six innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out two. Trevor Adams threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Ben Leal took the loss for the Blue Jays. The righty surrendered five runs on two hits over one-third of an inning.

Anoka-Ramsey collected nine hits. Appell, Wil Goodin, and Dan Foley each racked up multiple hits. Appell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Golden Rams in hits.
