Brent Tholen Named Player of the Week

Sophomore outfielder/shortstop Brent Tholen (Isanti/St. Francis) was named the MCAC (Minnesota College Athletics Conference) Player of the Week March 22.

A lead-off hitter, who combines power with speed, Tholen returned from the team's mid-March trip to Harrison, Arkansas with some solid offensive numbers for 36 at-bats:

• 21 hits

• 13 runs scored

• 2 home runs

• 15 RBI

• 6 stolen bases

• a .583 batting average

His numbers also rank at the top or near the top among all Minnesota Community College baseball athletes prior to March 21. His batting average, for instance, ranks among the NJCAA's top 10 (for more than 20 at-bats) and is Minnesota's best.

Tholen also has one major assist from the field: a right field-to-home plate throw-out of an opposing baserunner trying to score from third.
