
The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team forced 33 turnovers on their way to a 59-42 win over Central Lakes on Wednesday evening.
The Golden Rams defense has been stifling so far this season as they held the Raiders to just 34 percent shooting and 47 total field goal attempts, compared to 66 shot attempts for Anoka-Ramsey.
Sydney Hazuga scored seven points in the first quarter leading Anoka-Ramsey to a 19-10 lead after one period.
But the Raiders battled in the second quarter to trail by just seven at halftime, 31-24.
Anoka-Ramsey retook control in the third quarter, extending the lead to 47-30 at one point.
Central Lakes hung around but could not get the deficit back under double digits.
Hazuga scored 19 points to go with seven steals.
Mariam Alowonie scored ten points off the bench on 5 of 8 shooting. O'Ciana Johnson led the Golden Rams with eight rebounds.
Anoka-Ramsey is 2-0 and will have travel to North Dakota State College of Science for a pair of games Friday and Saturday.
