
The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team needed a weekend sweep in their final regular season games and accomplished just that with wins over Western Tech and St. Cloud Tech.
The two wins forced a play-in game between the Golden Rams and Western Tech to determine who advances to the NJCAA Region Tournament as the #4 seed from the Southern Division.
That game will be played tonight at Rochester at 7:00pm.
Anoka-Ramsey defeated Western Tech 74-59 behind 21 points from Sydney Kehr and 20 points from CeCe Bell.
Janea Arnoldi added 18 points and 17 rebounds as the Golden Rams held Western Tech to just 25 percent shooting including 4 of 19 from three.
Kehr connected on five three-point attempts, and Bell added nine rebounds, four on the offensive end.
On Sunday the Golden Rams traveled to St. Cloud Tech for a make-up game and fell behind 33-27 at halftime, putting their season in jeopardy.
A strong defensive effort in the third quarter held the Cyclones to just seven points on 20 percent shooting. Anoka-Ramsey won the period 14-7 in part by grabbing nine offensive rebounds.
The Golden Rams offense caught fire in the fourth quarter to pull away, shooting 47.4 percent and connecting on 2 of 5 three point attempts.
Anoka-Ramsey hauled in 18 offensive rebounds to counter shooting just 34.7 percent overall.
Bell scored 24 points making 4 of 10 from three.
Kehr tallied 11 points and 12 rebounds, with Arnoldi scoring ten points.
Mikayla Kanenwisher had a solid all-around game with eight points, seven assists, and four rebounds.
Anoka-Ramsey finishes the regular season with a 17-8 overall record.
