Jen Zidar Named Head Softball Coach

Anoka-Ramsey has announced the hiring of Jen Zidar as the Golden Rams Head Softball Coach, replacing Dave Alto who retired after the 2023 season.

Jen served as a volunteer assistant coach for Anoka-Ramsey the last two seasons, and is a former Golden Ram student-athlete.

"Having a former player return as head coach is exciting for the Golden Ram Softball program," said Director of Athletics Jessica Pelzel.  "She knows the program and what it takes to win at this level and I'm excited to see her succeed as the head coach."

Jen played softball for Anoka-Ramsey during the 2015 and 2016 seasons, earning NJCAA All-America honors in 2015.

A catcher and infielder, Zidar hit .619 in that 2015 season with 78 hits, 8 home runs, and a .952 slugging percentage.

"I'm very excited and honored to be taking over such an amazing program," said Coach Zidar.  "This program has done so much for me, I am glad to be able to give back.  I cannot wait to continue to build on the success of previous years, and create a strong future at Anoka-Ramsey!"

Anoka-Ramsey is coming of a 40-11 season that ended with a NJCAA Region runner-up finish.
