Golden Rams salvage split vs Ridgewater College

On a chilly day, Anoka-Ramsey's defensive disappears thus leading to an record setting unearned marathon

  • Anoka-Ramsey Community College watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 14-1 loss to Ridgewater College on Thursday. Ridgewater scored 8 unearned runs in the top of the 1st inning, along with 5 unearned runs in the top of the 2nd inning.  All told, all 14 runs scored by Ridgewater were unearned, while Anoka-Ramsey committed a disgraceful 8 errors during he game.
  • The Golden Rams struggled to put runs on the board and had a tremendously tough time defensively.
  • Reece Schwirtz got the win for Ridgewater College.  The fireballer went four innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out three and walking zero. Ayden Gustafson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
  • Drew Jones took the loss for Anoka-Ramsey. The righthander surrendered 11 unearned runs on six hits over one inning, striking out two.
  • Anoka-Ramsey  launched one home run on the day, when Landon Seibel hit the long ball in the first inning.
  • Blake RambergHenry Gibbs, and Seibel each collected one hit to lead the Golden Rams.

Ridgewater 8 - Anoka-Ramsey 12

Benji Bruce strong at the plate at the Golden Rams defeat Ridgewater College

  • Benji Bruce collected four hits in five at bats, as Anoka-Ramsey Community College defeated Ridgewater College 12-8 on Thursday. Bruce singled in the first, homered in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.
  • Anoka-Ramsey Community College earned the victory despite allowing Ridgewater College to score five runs in the sixth inning.
  • Anoka-Ramsey opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored two runs for the Golden Rams.
  • Anoka-Ramsey tallied eight runs in the fourth inning. Bruce, Blake RambergBryce NorbyNoah Thompson, and Wyatt Doubler all drove in runs in the frame.
  • Josh Stoll was the winning pitcher for the Golden Rams. The righthander lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and eight runs (six of the being earned) while striking out five.
  • Jack Howard took the loss for Ridgewater College. The hurler surrendered eight runs on eight hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.
  • Anoka-Ramsey Community College tallied three home runs on the day. Bruce had a long ball in the third inning. Norby went yard in the fourth inning.  Zach Ziesmer had a four bagger in the sixth inning.
  • The Golden Rams totaled 13 hits. Bruce, Norby, and Ramberg each collected multiple hits.
