Baseball Beats NDSCS, Falls to Dakota College

Anoka-Ramsey Community College snatched the lead late in the game in a 15-14 victory over North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) on Thursday. The game was tied at 13 with NDSCS batting in the top of the tenth when they scored one run to take a 14-13 lead.  However, the Golden Rams were not done, scoring one run in the bottom of the tenth inning to tie the game, and scoring another run in the bottom of the eleventh inning to win the game in walk-off fashion by a score of 15-14.

The Golden Rams had opened up an early lead in the third inning when Patrick Perreault singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

After NDSCS scored two runs in the top of the eighth, Anoka-Ramsey answered with two of their own. NDSCS scored on a walk, scoring one run and an error scored another run for NDSCS. Anoka-Ramsey then answered when Conley Burch singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

The Golden Rams tallied five runs in the third inning. Perreault, Noah ThompsonDerek HeldmanLandon Seibel, and Benji Bruce powered the big inning with RBIs.

NDSCS scored five runs in the seventh inning. Welle, Etcitty, and Deiber all drove in runs in the frame.

Drake Bakkum earned the win for the Golden Rams. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and walking one. Nate LuedersDillon Stai, and Joey Tanzilo all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Swerman took the loss for NDSCS. The pitcher went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out five and walking zero.

Brayden Buttweiler started the game for Anoka-Ramsey. The southpaw lasted three innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out four.  Logan Myers started the game for NDSCS. The righty surrendered eight runs on nine hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two

The Golden Rams scattered 19 hits in the game. Wyatt Doubler, Perreault, Thompson, Seibel, Jake Kouri, and Mike Schroer all managed multiple hits for Anoka-Ramsey.  Doubler led Anoka-Ramsey Community College Golden Rams Varsity with four hits in five at bats.
