Baseball Drops Two to Century

Game 1: Anoka-Ramsey 7 - Century 14

Monday's game against Century College Wood Ducks was a heartbreaker for Anoka-Ramsey Community College, as they lost the lead late in a 14-7 defeat. The game was tied at seven with Century batting in the bottom of the sixth, scoring seven runs, six of which were unearned.

Despite the loss, Anoka-Ramsey did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Century had 13 hits on the way to victory.

In the first inning, Anoka-Ramsey got their offense started when Patrick Perreault homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

After the Golden Rams scored one run in the top of the second, Century answered with one of their own. Anoka-Ramsey scored when Tyler Traphagen singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Gabby Santana was the winning pitcher for the Ducks. The righthander went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out one and walking zero.

Jake Kouri took the loss for Anoka-Ramsey. The lefty allowed four hits and seven runs, only one being an earned run, over two innings.

Chad Fox started the game for Century. Fox went five and a third innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and striking out five. Braydon Buttweiler started the game for Anoka-Ramsey. The lefthander surrendered seven runs, of which three were only earned, on seven hits over four innings, while striking out four

The Golden Rams launched four home runs on the day. Zach Ziesmer had a homer in the first and third innings. Traphagen had a dinger in the sixth inning. Perreault went deep in the first inning.

Anoka-Ramsey tallied 11 hits. Traphagen, Ziesmer, and Wil Goodin all had multiple hits for the Golden Rams. Traphagen went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Anoka-Ramsey in hits.

 

Game 2: Anoka-Ramsey 6 - Century 7

Anoka-Ramsey Community College's effort to come back from down five runs in the second inning came up just short, as they fell 7-6 to Century College Ducks on Monday. Anoka-Ramsey managed five runs in the failed comeback. Zach ZiesmerTyler Traphagen, Benji Bruce, and Brydon Hegarty each picked up RBIs.

The Golden Rams lost despite out-hitting the Ducks eight to six.

Century got things moving in the second inning, scoring one run when Spencer Wright singled.

The Ducks pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning, where Xander Paar singled on a 2-2 count, scoring the two runs.

Noah Stober pitched Century to victory. Stober went one inning, allowing one run on two hits, striking out one and walking one. Wright threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Dan Foley took the loss for the Golden Rams. The lefty went six innings, allowing seven runs on six hits, striking out eight and walking one.

Blake Gulden started the game for Century. The southpaw allowed five hits and five runs over four innings, striking out five

Anoka-Ramsey had eight hits in the game. Bruce, Brandon Watkins, and Patrick Perreault each had multiple hits for the Golden Rams. Bruce led Anoka-Ramsey with three hits in four at bats.
