Volleyball Splits Weekend Road Matches

The Anoka-Ramsey Volleyball team went on the road for two MCAC contests last weekend and came away with a split.

On Friday, the Golden Rams fell 3-0 to Minnesota West, but rebounded with a 3-0 sweep of Riverland on Saturday afternoon.

Newcomer Megan Simmons led the team with six kills and eight digs vs. MN West as the Golden Rams fell by scores of 25-10, 25-7, 25-19.

On Saturday against Riverland Simmons again led the Golden Rams with 14 kills as Anoka-Ramsey hit .270 overall.

Natiesha Nelson hist .429 with eight kills.  Ali Koel recorded 22 assists.

Anoka-Ramsey is now 2-16 overall on the season and will travel to Minnesota State-Fergus Falls on October 16 to complete a string of seven consecutive matches on the road before returning home on October 23.
