Volleyball Drops Matches in Tournament

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Volleyball team hosted a 6-team tournament on Saturday, September 9th and came away empty-handed, although showed signs of continued improvement throughout the day.

In their first match the Golden Rams fell 3-1 losing the first set 25-19 before pulling out the second set 25-21.  In set 3, the Cardinals retook control winning 25-10 and finished off the match in the fourth by a score of 25-13.

The second match of the day put the Golden Rams up against Itasca who had previously defeated Anoka-Ramsey by a 3-1 score on August 26.  The Vikings once again prevailed 3-1 winning the first set 25-16 before Anoka-Ramsey won a marathon second set 30-28 to tie the match.  Itasca responded in the third winning 25-10 before taking the match 25-16 in the fourth set.

In the final match of the day Rainy River was too much for the Golden Rams winning 3-0 by identical 25-18 scores in all three sets.

The Golden Rams will seek out their first win of the season on Wednesday, September 13 when they host M|State Fergus Falls at 6:30pm.
