Volleyball Splits Matches at NDSCS Tourney

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Volleyball team split their two matches on Friday, September 23 at the NDSCS tournament falling to NDSCS 3-0 before defeating Lake Region 3-1.

In their first match of the day vs. NDSCS the Golden Rams fell by scores of 25-9, 25-15, and 25-14.

Kayle Welch hit .667 with two kills while Tatiana Smith added two kills as well.

Katelyn Wicks had 12 kills.

Ashley Mokamba and Wicks were a combined 13 for 13 serving.

In the second match vs. Lake Region the Golden Rams picked up their second win of the season by scores of 18-25, 25-15, 29-27, and 25-18.

Jasmine Burbank hit .667 with six kills, Lexi Jouppi had three kills while hitting .375, Ashley Mokamba hit .353 with eight kills.

Carly Britton led the team in kills with ten while hitting .333, Tatiana Smith added eight kills while hitting .350, and Bekah Strecker also contributed eight kills.

Britton had a fantastic serving match going 23 for 23 with two aces.

As a team the Golden Rams served at a 96% clip.

Katelyn Wicks had 11 digs followed by eight from Britton.
