Volleyball Picks Up First Win

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Volleyball team picked up their first win of the season defeating Vermilion 2-1 with scores of 25-21, 21-25, and 15-5 in the Anoka-Ramsey tournament.  The Golden Rams also fell 2-0 to Mesabi during the day.

In their victory over Vermilion the Golden Rams were led by Colleen Henckel's .600 hitting percentage, followed by Kayle Welch (.500), Bekah Strecker (.200), Carly Britton (.147), and Katelyn Wicks (.143).

Khamilla Vang was 15 for 15 on serves, Wicks was 13 for 13, Ashley Mokamba 12 for 12 with two aces, and Lexi Jouppi 8 for 8 with one ace.

Wicks recorded 11 digs and Jouppi had two blocks.

In the loss to Mesabi, the Golden Rams put in another strong serving effort with Vang connecting on all 11 of her serves with five aces.  Jouppi was 5 for 5 as was Britton, with Mokamba hitting 3 for 3.

Henckel had seven digs and Jouppi added a block.

Mokamba hit .500 for the match.
