Volleyball Drops Two Matches in Tourney

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Volleyball team dropped two matches at the Rochester Community and Technical College tournament on Friday, September 9.

In their first match the Golden Rams fell 3-2 to Hibbing by scores of 25-16, 17-25, 20-25, 25-22, and 14-16.

The team finished with a .960 serving percentage with Lexi Jouppi going 22 for 22 with one ace, Ashley Mokamba was 17 for 17 with one ace, and Katelyn Wicks was 10 for 10.

Wicks led the diggers with 19 followed by 14 from Mokamba and 11 from Jouppi.  Jasmine Burbank added two blocks and Mokamba, Carly Britton, Tatiana Smith, and Kaylee Welch each finished with one block apiece.

Britton and Bekah Strecker had seven kills each with Strecker hitting .556 and Britton .429.

Burbank added four kills while hitting .250.

 

In match two, the Golden Rams fell to Harper College 3-0 by scores of 25-11, 25-11, and 25-17.

The team once again put in a strong serving effort connecting on .950 of their serves with Khamilla Vang going 9 for 9 with one ace, Britton was 8 for 8, Jouppi 6 for 6, and Wicks 3 for 3.

Wicks had 11 digs followed by 10 from Mokamba and nine for Britton.

Mokamba and Strecker each added a block.

Britton led the attack with four kills hitting .500, and Strecker added two kills while hitting .333.

The Golden Rams will travel to M|State Fergus Falls on Wednesday for a 6:30pm match.
