Women's Soccer Takes Second in Region, Advances to Districts

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Soccer team defeated Alexandria in penalty kicks to advance to the NJCAA Region XIII championship game before falling to Rochester 4-0.

Despite the championship game loss the Golden Rams qualified for the NJCAA Midwest District Tournament in Rochester, MN.

Anoka-Ramsey will face Joliet at 3:00pm on October 28 in the semifinals.

 

Against Alexandria, the Golden Rams and Legends played to a 0-0 tie at halftime, then were knotted up at 3-3 after regulation time.

Nobody scored in the two extra time periods which necessitated a penalty shootout to determine the winner.

Anoka-Ramsey prevailed 3-2 on PKs.
