Women's Soccer Drops Opening Game to Madison

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Soccer team fell to Madison College 2-0 to open the 2019 season in Coon Rapids.

The Golden Rams had numerous opportunities to find the back of the net in the first half but couldn't convert due to the strong play of Madison GK Kelly Kubicek who had 12 saves.

The teams played to a 0-0 tie in the first half before Madison midfielder Jenna Kohrt scored in the 46th minute.

The Wolfpack put another one on the board in the 53rd minute with a goal from Mary Raemisch.

Anoka-Ramsey had their chances in the second half as well but the Wolfpack defense held strong.

Golden Ram GK Rebekah Anderson had seven saves.

Anoka-Ramsey falls to 0-1 on the season and hosts metro-area rival Dakota County Tech on Wednesday, August 28th at 6:30pm.
