The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Soccer team defeated Lake Superior 4-1 to claim the NJCAA Region XIII Championship on Sunday afternoon.
The win was the 7th consecutive Region XIII title for Anoka-Ramsey.
Kati Beckman got the Golden Rams on the board early scoring in the 4th minute off a Grace Hanson assist, then Beckman followed it up in the 15th minute with her second goal for a 2-0 lead.
Lauren Ives followed in the 23rd minute off a Genna Swanson assist as Anoka-Ramsey took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Lake Superior breathed some life with an early second half goal to pull within 3-1 but the Golden Rams controlled the ball for the last 20 minutes and Avianna McGregor put the finishing touches on the win in the 70th minute.
Head Coach Brady Eichhorn-Hicks was named the Region XIII Coach of the Year.
Anoka-Ramsey will now participate in the District D tournament this weekend at a site to be determined.
