Women's Soccer Wins MCAC Regular Season Title

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Soccer team won the 2018 MCAC regular season title with a convincing 9-0 win over Rochester on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in Coon Rapids.

The Golden Rams made quick work of the Yellowjackets scoring three goals in the first seven minutes - two from Lauren Ives off assists from Kati Beckman, and one from Lauren Baurr.

Beckman added a goal of her own in the 27th minute as Anoka-Ramsey led 4-0 at halftime.

Beckman connected again in the 46th minute followed by a Genna Swanson goal in the 55th minute for a 6-0 lead.

The hat trick was completed by Beckman in the 56th minute, and Grace Hanson (58th) and Brianna Szymanski (73rd) finished off the scoring.

In total the Golden Rams had 29 shots on goal as they controlled the ball for a majority of the match.

Anoka-Ramsey finishes the regular season 10-2 overall and ranked #7 in the NJCAA Division III poll.

The Golden Rams will host the Region XIII championship game on Sunday, October 21 at 12:00pm with the opponent yet to be determined.
