The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Soccer team opened the season in convincing fashion with a 4-1 win over NJCAA Division I Allen (KS) Community College on Friday afternoon.
Lauren Ives put Anoka-Ramsey on the board first with a goal in the 13th minute with an assist from Lauren Baurr.
Then Baurr got in on the scoring early in the second half with a goal in the 48th minute to give the Golden Rams a 2-1 lead.
The teams played evenly for much of the second half until Kati Beckman outran the defense for a goal in the 77th minute, with Liberty Morrice-Bart putting the finishing touches on the match with a goal of her own in the 83rd minute.
Goalkeeper Rylee Shoquist-Nolan was outstanding for all 90 minutes saving ten shots for the victors.
Anoka-Ramsey is 1-0 on the season and will host Lake Superior College at 1:00pm August 27.
