Women's Soccer Defeated in District Championship

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Soccer team fell just short of a second consecutive National Tournament appearance after falling 2-1 in overtime to Madison College in the NJCAA District D Championship game Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Rams went up 1-0 on a goal from Brittney Streit in the 35th minute and held onto the lead at halftime.

The Wolfpack responded in the 57th minute tying the score 1-1 off a corner kick that appeared to last touch the Golden Rams before heading into the back of the net.

The teams remained tied through the rest of regulation, with the Wolfpack putting home the game winner in the 2nd minute of the first overtime period.

Madison held a 27-8 edge in shots for the game with Golden Ram goalkeeper Jen Kisch tallying 13 saves.
