Golden Rams Rout Northern Division Foes

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team ran their record to 8-0 with a pair of big victories over MCAC Northern Division opponents last weekend.

On Friday night the Golden Rams played stifling defense in a 103-34 win over MN North Vermilion.

Anoka-Ramsey forced 39 turnovers and held the Ironhawks to just 32.5 percent shooting overall.

Meanwhile, the Golden Rams connected on 50 percent of their field goals (41-82) and 41.7 percent of their threes (10-24).

Five Golden Rams reached double figures in scoring.

Alani Pettis continued her stellar play with 20 points and five steals.

Alex McNeill scored 19 points making 4 of 8 from three.

Jordan McMahon tallied 18 points and 17 rebounds.

Bella Kanz added 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting to go with six steals.

Saturday's game was more of the same in a 91-34 win over MN North Mesabi Range.

Anoka-Ramsey forced an eye-opening 57 turnovers with 37 steals, and pulled in 30 offensive rebounds.

Six players reached double digits in scoring for the Golden Rams.

Izzy Hall lit up the scoreboard for 19 points on 7 of 12 shooting.

Makayla Holten scored 16 points to go with eight rebounds and eight steals.

Pettis and McMahon each tallied 12 points with McMahon also hauling in ten rebounds.

Kanz scored 11 points, and McNeill added ten to go with seven steals.

Anoka-Ramsey travels to Iowa Lakes on Wednesday night for a 5:30pm tip.
