Golden Rams Sweep Weekend Series

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team picked up two more wins to improve to 3-0 on the season with victories over the North Central JV 102-33, and Northland 61-56.

The Golden Rams jumped out to a quick lead against North Central and never looked back, leading 25-6 after the first quarter, and 51-15 at halftime.

Five players scored in double figures as Anoka-Ramsey shot 53.6 percent from the field and forced 22 turnovers.

Alani Pettis scored 25 points on 10 of 13 shooting to go with eight rebounds, six assists, and six steals.

Alex McNeill scored 22 points making 8 of 15 shots.

Bella Kanz scored 12 points, and Delana Washburn added 11.  Lynae Walker scored 11 points and pulled in 13 rebounds.

North Central was held to 15.5 percent shooting and 4 of 29 from three.

Against Northland, Anoka-Ramsey led 37-18 at halftime and 51-35 after three quaters before holding on for the win.

Northland was held to 26.7 percent shooting and connected on just 1 of 24 three-point attempts.  Free throws kept the Pioneers in the game with 23 of 29 from the stripe compared to 15 of 26 for Anoka-Ramsey.

McNeill scored 21 points making 8 of 9 free throws.

Walker added ten points and nine rebounds.

Pettis finished with nine points and ten rebounds to go with seven steals.

Anoka-Ramsey travels to NIACC on Tuesday for a 5:30pm tip before returning home to host MN North Mesabi Range on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
