Golden Rams Rout Ridgewater, Set Sights on Region XIIIA Tourney

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team started sluggish in the Saturday afternoon tilt vs. Ridgewater, but turned on the gas in the second quarter in a 104-66 rout of the Warriors.

Anoka-Ramsey led 18-17 after the first quarter, but used big second and third quarters to blow the game open.

The Golden Rams made a season-high 17 three point field goals while attempting 44 shots from beyond the arc.

Pressure defense was a key as it's been all season in forcing 30 Warrior turnovers.

Charo Nickens put up 30 points and ten rebounds while Mikayla Homola added 29 points.

Adaya Sandifer dished out 11 assists, and Chloe Vezies had 11 rebounds.

The Golden Rams finish the regular season with a 21-5 overall record, and a 10-2 mark in the MCAC.

Next up is the NJCAA Region XIIIA tournament where the Golden Rams will be the #2 seed.

Western Tech won the Southern Division and the right to host the postseason tournament in La Crosse, WI on March 2-3.

The Golden Rams' game time and opponent has yet to be determined.
