Big First Half Leads to Win over Rochester

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Basketball team used a strong first half to build a big lead in defeating Rochester 70-54 on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Rams held Rochester to just 22 points in the first half in leading by 15 at halftime.

Rochester hung around in the second half playing the Golden Rams almost even, but could not overcome the strong Anoka-Ramsey first half.

The Golden Rams shot 44.3 percent overall and held Rochester to just 36.7 percent.  Anoka-Ramsey also forced 28 Yellowjacket turnovers.

Mikayla Homola scored 25 points on 10 of 22 shooting.

Charo Nickens had a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds.

Kirsten Fitzgerald added 11 points while Adaya Sandifer chipped in ten points and seven assists.

Anoka-Ramsey improves to 20-4 overall, 8-1 in the MCAC Southern Division.
