The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Basketball team got back on the winning track with two victories over MCAC Northern Division opponents last weekend.
The Golden Rams routed Fond du Lac 115-24 on Friday evening before defeating Central Lakes 77-70 on Saturday.
Against the Thunder the Golden Rams opened the game on an 11-0 run and pushed the lead to 29-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Anoka-Ramsey scored the first nine points to open the second quarter punctuated by five straight from Mikayla Homola.
McKenna Anderson followed that up with five straight points of her own as the lead ballooned to 48-14 at halftime.
Charo Nickens and Chyanne Nickens then forced three turnovers to start the third sparking an 18-0 run as the Golden Rams continued to extend the lead.
The Golden Rams forced 52 turnovers with 38 coming off steals.
Anoka-Ramsey shot 52.5 percent overall in attempting 101 total shots.
Six Golden Rams finished in double figures led by Charo Nickens (14) and Homola (14), followed by Jonna Warren (13), Maleigha Singleton-Buchanan (12), Maddy Craig (12), and Anderson (10).
Central Lakes, traditionally one of the tougher Northern Division teams, gave Anoka-Ramsey all they could handle on Saturday afternoon, refusing to go away despite the Golden Rams leading by double digits for much of the game.
The Raiders led 12-9 five minutes into the game and the score was tied 15-15 at the three minute mark before two Chyanne Nickens free throws, a free throw from Mikayla Homola, and a three-point play by Charo Nickens gave Anoka-Ramsey a 21-15 lead.
The Golden Rams led by six at the end of the first and opened the second quarter on a 7-0 run, with all the points coming from Homola.
The lead remained at double digits until a quick four points from the Raiders trimmed the deficit to 34-26. But Maddy Craig scored a layup followed by two Nana Montgomery layups to give the Golden Rams a 40-28 lead at halftime.
Central Lakes scored the first five points of the third quarter to stay within striking distance and were within ten, 50-40, with three minutes to play in the third before another seven straight points from Homola extended the Golden Ram lead to 17 points.
A 14-4 Raiders run midway through the fourth quarter trimmed the Golden Ram lead to just 72-68 with a minute to play but two Homola free throws and a jumper from Charo Nickens gave the Golden Rams enough cushion to close out the game.
Central Lakes shot 48.1 percent overall to 44.3 percent for the Golden Rams. Anoka-Ramsey forced 31 turnovers and outscored Central Lakes 33-10 in points off turnovers.
Homola led all scorers with 36 points. Adaya Sandifer finished with ten points to go with six assists and five rebounds.
The Golden Rams improve to 6-2 overall and will travel to Mesabi and Vermilion next weekend.
