Shooting Woes Sink Golden Rams

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Basketball team had their looks but couldn't put the points on the board in a 80-46 loss to Western Tech on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Rams 16-4 early in the first quarter, and 26-14 after the end of one, but pulled with 29-22 on a jumper from Jerusalem Solomon with 7:13 left in the first half.

Western Tech responded with a 9-0 run to increase the lead to 38-22 and Anoka-Ramsey trailed 42-27 at halftime.

The dry spell continued to start the third quarter as the Golden Rams failed to score in the first five minutes before consecutive field goals from Solomon made the score 51-31.

Western Tech continued to put up points on their end into the fourth quarter increasing their lead to as many as 37 points.

Anoka-Ramsey shot just 26.7 percent overall for the game and made 6 of 28 threes.

Kaylee Porisch scored 21 points and pulled in 13 rebound.

Solomon finished with eight points.

The Golden Rams fall to 6-14 overall, 4-4 in the MCAC and will host Riverland on Wednesday, February 7th at 5:30pm.
