The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Basketball team dropped a Southern Division contest to Ridgewater College 73-64 on Wednesday evening in Willmar.
The Golden Rams led by 14 points at the end of three quarters, but the offense stalled in the fourth as Ridgewater rallied for the win.
Anoka-Ramsey ended the first quarter making three of their final five three point attempts to take a 18-15 lead.
Consecutive baskets from Kaylee Porisch to start the second extended the lead to 22-15.
Six straight from the Warriors cut the Golden Ram lead to 22-21 but consecutive threes from Amanda Lindsay and Carley Anderson during a 12-6 spurt put Anoka-Ramsey back up by seven with 2:33 left in the second quarter.
Ridgewater chipped away again and trailed 34-29 before another Lindsay three followed by a Porsich three to end the half gave the Golden Ramsa 40-30 lead at halftime.
The Warriors pulled within five early in the third quarter before the Golden Rams began to pull away.
A free throw from Maegan Mckernon and a three from Anderson pushed the lead back to 11, 52-41.
Following a Warrior field goal, Anderson would again connect from long range followed by consecutive Porisch baskets as the Golden Rams extended the lead to 59-45 after three quarters.
But that's where the rims became unkind.
Ridgewater scored the first ten points of the fourth quarter to pull within 59-55.
Two Mckernon free throws accounted for the first points of the fourth for Anoka-Ramsey as they led 61-57.
From there Ridgewater would rattle off 14 straight points to take a 71-61 lead with 1:38 to play and hold on for the win.
Anoka-Ramsey shot 35.8 percent overall but made 11 of 32 from beyond the arc (34.4 percent).
Ridgewater shot 40.8 percent including 61.1 percent in the fourth quarter and held a 53-27 edge in rebounds.
Porisch finished with 25 points and ten rebounds.
Lindsay scored 14 points making four of ten threes.
Mckernon finished with 13 points.
Anderson chipped in 12 making four of six three-point attempts.
The Golden Rams fall to 6-13 overall, 4-3 in the MCAC Southern Division. Anoka-Ramsey hosts Western Tech on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00pm. The Cavaliers enter the game in fifth place in the division, one game behind fourth-place Anoka-Ramsey.
