The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Basketball team dropped their final two non-conference games, falling to Hibbing 77-45 and NDSCS 77-48.

The Golden Rams were largely doomed by a slow first half offensively against Hibbing as they managed just 5 of 29 shooting in the first two quarters in falling behind 36-18 at halftime.

Anoka-Ramsey was within 10-7 midway through the first half, but a 9-0 run by Hibbing allowed the Cardinals to pull away.

Kaylee Porisch and Amanda Lindsay hit jumpers to start the second half and cut the deficit to 36-22 but Hibbing responded with a 8-2 run to go ahead 44-24 with seven minutes left in the third and the Golden Rams wouldn't get any closer the rest of the way.

Anoka-Ramsey finished the night shooting 27.8 percent overall and were outrebounded 51-33.

Lindsay finished with 19 points on 6 of 15 shooting.

Porisch scored 17 points and Carley Anderson led the team with ten rebounds.

On Saturday afternoon the Golden Rams faced NJCAA Division I foe NDSCS and hung right with the Wildcats for the first three quarters of the game.

Jerusalem Solomon knocked down consecutive three-point field goals to give the Golden Rams a 8-7 lead midway through the first period and a 7-0 run to end the quarter put Anoka-Ramsey up 19-15 heading into the second.

Another Solomon three gave Anoka-Ramsey a 24-17 lead with 8:26 to play in the second quarter.

NDSCS responded with a 15-4 run to go ahead 32-28, but the Golden Rams finished the half on a 6-2 spurt to tie the score 34-all at halftime.

Anoka-Ramsey made an identical 7 of 13 field goals in both quarters to finish the half 14-26 (53.8 percent) while limiting NDSCS to 12 of 29 shooting.

Porisch opened the third quarter with a three to break the tie and added another three to put Anoka-Ramsey up 45-44 with 4:16 left in the quarter.

But the Golden Rams ran out of gas as NDSCS scored the final 11 points of the quarter and took a 55-45 lead at the end of the fourth and held Anoka-Ramsey without a field goal through the final quarter as they outscored the Golden Rams 22-3 in the final period.

McKernon scored 18 points and Porisch added 14 for Anoka-Ramsey.

The Golden Rams are 2-10 overall and will travel to Western Technical College for the first MCAC Southern Division game on Wednesday, January 10 at 5:30pm.
