The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Basketball team, short on player, fought valiantly in two home games this weekend before coming up short both nights.

On Friday evening, the Golden Rams faced off against Madison College and fell 53-49.

Anoka-Ramsey trailed 14-12 after the first quarter but used a 10-0 run in the second quarter to take a 27-20 lead before a late three from Madison made the score 27-23 at halftime in favor of the Golden Rams.

A layup from Amanda Lindsay put Anoka-Ramsey up 39-35 with 5:50 to play in the third before a cold streak hit.  Madison tied the game 39-39 with 4:02 left in the quarter and neither team was able to score over the final four minutes of the period.

Madison took a one point lead 40-39 before a 7-0 run by the Golden Rams put them up 46-40 with 6:38 to play.  Lindsay connected on a three followed by two free throws and a jumper from Kaylee Porisch in the run.

The Wolfpack responded with a 6-0 burst to tie the score and Porisch gave the Golden Rams the lead again with a three, 49-46 with 1:44 to play.  But the Golden Rams wouldn't score again as the Wolfpack made seven free throws to take the victory.

Porisch finished with 21 points and eight rebounds.

Lindsay scored 13 points to go with seven rebounds.

Abbey Romick scored ten points and pulled in ten rebounds in her first game of the season.

Saturday afternoon, Anoka-Ramsey hosted Gogebic and suffered from a slow first quarter in falling 76-63.

The Golden Rams were hot from the three-point line making 13 of 34 three-point attempts, but Gogebic made 12 of 24 threes of their own.

Anoka-Ramsey led 11-10 after two Meagan Mckernon free throws before the Wolfpack finished the half on a 15-4 run.

After an early layup put Madison up 27-15, Lindsay would connect on a three followed by a Porisch jumper to pull within seven.

A 10-0 Madison run extended the lead to 37-20 with 3:45 left in the half before settling on a 42-28 halftime score.

Anoka-Ramsey fell behind by 20 points early in the second half, and continued to battle but could not get any closer than 15 points the rest of the way.

Lindsay finished with 24 points making 8 of 16 three-point attempts.

Porisch scored 21 points.

Carley Anderson scored ten points to go with seven rebounds.

Mckernon chipped in eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.

The Golden Rams fall to 0-4 on the season and are off until December 1-2 when they host Itasca and Northland respectively.
