Six Players in Double Figures as WBB Routs St. Cloud Tech

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women's Basketball team had six players score in double figures to defeat St. Cloud Tech 100-66 on Wednesday evening in Coon Rapids.

The Golden Rams jumped out to a huge 31-16 lead after just the first quarter by shooting 44.8 percent in the period.

The Cyclones battled back in the second quarter and cut the deficit to 34-25 with 6:40 to play before halftime.

A 13-5 run by the Golden Rams pushed the lead back up to 17 points and Anoka-Ramsey would take a 47-34 lead into halftime.

A jumper from Lateah Turmon, followed by a three from Alyssa Correll jump started a 10-0 run to begin the third period as the Golden Rams steadily built a 30 point lead, 69-39 with 4:41 left in the third.

Anoka-Ramsey eventually pushed the lead to 40 points, 95-55 with five minutes left in winning their ninth straight game.

The Golden Rams forced 23 Cyclone turnovers and pulled in 21 offensive rebounds.

Rashonna Thomas scored 21 points.

Dariel Lipscomb scored 19 points to go with 14 rebounds.

Correll finished with 17 points making 3 of 7 threes.

Turmon and Amanda Lindsay each scored 11 points.

Kendell Martin contributed 14 points on 7 of 11 shooting to go with seven rebounds.

Anoka-Ramsey is 16-6 overall, 9-0 in MCAC Southern Division play.

The Golden Rams will travel to MN West on Saturday, February 18 for a 1:00pm tip.
