Softball Drops Two Tough Games

On Day two of the Golden Rams spring trip, the team lost a couple of tough games to the County College of Morris 9-1 and nationally ranked Monroe 4-3.

The first game saw Anoka-Ramsey out hit their opponent but the team could not produce the big hit when needed. Offensively the Golden Rams were led with multi-hit games by Cassie Benson and Cleopatra Nystrom.

The second game saw Anoka-Ramsey jump to a quick 1-0 lead only to see Monroe score four runs the next two innings to take the lead. The Golden Rams rallied for two more runs in the 5th to cut the lead to 3-4, but couldn't get anymore runs across. The team collected 11 hits with Bailey Zenk leading the way going 3-4 with a pair of RBI's. Sunny Strait suffered the loss but pitched her best game of the season to date.

The Golden Rams are off Sunday, March 10, but they return to the diamond on Monday, March 11 against a pair of DII schools, Parkland and Spoon River.
