Golden Rams Drop Opening Two Games of Season

This past Friday, March 8, the Golden Rams Softball team opened their 2019 season with a tough loss to national ranked Central Lakes 6-4 and Macomb 17-2 in 5 innings.

In the first game, Anoka-Ramsey jumped to a 3-0 lead after three innings only to see Central Lakes put four runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to take the lead for good. The Golden Rams had great production from the top of the order. Cleopatra Nystrom, Ashley Stepaniak and Megan Iverson all had three hits a piece with Iverson driving in three of the team's four runs.

Game two was a match up with highly touted DII school Macomb. Not a lot of things went right for the team in this game though Cassie Benson and Nystrom had two hits a piece.

The Golden Rams are now 0-2 in this young season. They get right back on the horse tomorrow when they face off against the County College of Morris and nationally ranked Monroe out of New York.
