Six members of the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Softball team received All-Southern Division honors for their performances this season.
Awarded 1st Team All-Southern Division were Lindsey Swanson, Breanna Stang, and Cleopatra Nystrom.
2nd Team All-Southern Division was awarded to Mickey Guenther and Ashley Stepaniak.
Honorable Mention All-Southern Division went to Bailey Zenk.
Swanson (Pitcher/First Base) was a dominant force for the Golden Rams over the 2018 season. Offensively, Swanson hit for a .481 batting average, belted 11 home runs and drove in 63 RBI's on 62 hits. In the pitching circle, Swanson won 15 games for Anoka-Ramsey with a 2.81 ERA. The sophomore from Mounds View drew the unique distinction of earning National Player and Pitcher-of-the-Week through a commanding set of outings between April 6 - 12.
Stang (Shortstop/Second Base) was a consistent player all season for Anoka-Ramsey. Typically batting third in the lineup, Stang had a .447 batting average with an impressive 55 hits and 13 doubles in 2018. She also had 11 stolen bases to go with 38 RBI's as a key offensive contributor for the Golden Rams and head coach David Alto.
Nystrom (Outfield) excelled as the lead-off batter for Anoka-Ramsey over the course of the spring season. Nystrom hit for a strong .438 batting average, collected 60 hits, scored 48 runs and swiped 31 stolen bases. Nystrom hit for power as well, with 10 doubles, three triples and three home runs in 2018.
Guenther (Utility) found a way to factor into the Golden Rams success with a balanced performance over the course of the 2018 season. Guenther earned a .400 average, collected 44 hits and stole 16 bases. She scored 37 Golden Ram runs while turning in a stellar .917 fielding percentage as a utility player.
Stepaniak (Shortstop/Second Base) was a solid middle-infielder for the Anoka-Ramsey squad this past softball seaosn. Stepaniak hit in the middle of the line-up, turning in a .394 batting average, knocking in 34 runs while also scoring 36 times herself. She also swiped 14 stolen bases and had a strong .485 on-base percentage.
Zenk (Pitcher/First Base) provided Anoka-Ramsey a solid #2 pitcher in their line-up for 2018, picking up nine wins in 67.2 innings pitched. Zenk was equally productive at the plate hitting for a .453 average with 30 RBI's, and a .674 slugging percentatge. She notched 12 doubles for the Golden Rams, while reaching base at a .480 clip.
Anoka-Ramsey finished the season 25-14 and was consistently ranked in the top 10 in the nation for a majority of the season.
