The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Softball team closed-out the regular season by sweeping Ridgewater College by scores of 8-2 and 11-2.

Game one was tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the third inning when the #9 ranked Golden Rams erupted for four runs on five consecutive hits.

The team added a pair of runs in the fifth and a single run in the sixth for their 8 runs scored.

Anoka-Ramsey was seeing the ball well and pounded out 14 hits at the dish. Leading the way offensively was Lindsey Swanson who was a perfect 4-4 with a double, homerun and 3 RBI's. Lindsey Swanson picked up her MCAC leading 15th win fanning 9 while only allowing the two runs.

Game two was a slow start for the Golden Rams as they were tied 1-1 heading into the top of the fourth inning.

After a lead-off out, Anoka-Ramsey then proceeded to score six runs after seven consecutive runners reached base. Most of these runs scored were the result of the "short game" being utilized.

Zenk was the winning pitcher collecting her ninth win of the season while only allowing four hits. The offense saw four players produce multi-hit games. They were Karina Pritchard (who also had 2 RBI's while hitting a double and a triple), Zenk (2 RBI's), Stepaniak (3 stolen bases) and Swanson (10th HR of the season).

The Golden Rams finished their regular season on a six-game winning streak. They now stand 25-12 overall and 6-2 in MCAC Southern Division play.

Next up for the team is the Region XIIIA Tournament held at Rivers Edge Park in Waite Park Thursday and Friday, May 10 and 11. This is a double elimination tournament with the winner advancing to next week's National Tournament.

The Golden Rams will open up the tournament at 10:00am on May 10 against NDSCS.
