Golden Rams Bounce Back with Win

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Softball team bounced back after a rough first day to defeat Rowan College at Gloucester 6-5 in extra innings while in Florida.

Rowan College entered the game ranked #7 nationally.

The Golden Rams trailed 5-2 entering the bottom of the sixth inning when they loaded the bases with nobody out.

After scoring a run on an error, Cassie Benson delivered a clutch base hit to bring the team within one run.  Two batters later Mickey Guenther drove in the tying run with a sacrifice fly.

The game entered the bottom of the eighth tied 5-5 and with the International Rule in effect Emily Robinette started on 2nd base.  Jojo Liebelt layed down a perfect sacrifice bunt to advance Robinette to 3rd.

Benson came to bat next and hit the game winning single back up the middle.  Securing the win on the mount was Lindsey Swanson striking out six and scattering eight hits.
