Softball Takes Two from Minnesota West

Softball Takes Two from Minnesota West

On Saturday, April 15 the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Softball team took two games from the visitors from MN West by scores of 4-1 and 16-4.

The opening game of the twin-bill was not the sharpest game of the season by the Golden Rams, but they still managed to hold off the Blue Jays to get the "W".

"For some reason, we were flat", said Head Coach Dave Alto. "Minnesota West came to play and played well, but fortunately we were able to do just enough to get the win. I am proud of the team for pushing through and finding a way to win this game."

Game two saw Anoka-Ramsey fall quickly behind 0-4 out of the gate after 1.5 innings of play, but then the Golden Rams rebounded to score the next 16 runs to finish the game in 5 innings.

Leading the Golden Rams at the plate was freshman SS Ashton Prachar (Rush City) who went 4-4, scoring 3 runs, hitting 2 doubles and a home run while driving in 4 runs.

Also having a strong offensive performance was sophomore Quincy Gross (Columbia Heights) who was 2-4, with 2 runs scored, a 3-run homerun and 2 stolen bases and sophomore CF Alexus Martin-Warren (Andover) who had 2 hits with a double and a RBI.

Freshman pitcher Lindsey Swanson (Irondale) notched her 7th win of the season against 5 losses.

#7 ranked Anoka-Ramsey is now 17-11 on the season and tied for the top spot at 7-1 in MCAC Southern Division play.
