Men's Soccer Shuts Out Lake Superior for Second Time

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Soccer team faced MCAC foe Lake Superior for the second time in a week and came away with another shut out, 5-0 over the Ice Hawks.

Facing a Lake Superior defense that was determined to keep the contest low scoring by packing the box on defense, the Golden Rams took some time to find the cracks with Gabriel Monaighan finally finding the net on a header in the 40th minute.

Down 1-0 at half the Ice Hawks came out more aggressive in the second half, freeing up Monaighan for his second goal in the 56th minute.

Gael Ntambwe (85th), Dawson Penner (86th), and Amanuel Bird (87th) added late goals for the final margin.

Amanuel Bird had three assists.

The Golden Rams have won four straight, allowing just one goal in that span, and are now 6-4-1 overall on the season.
