Rory has been the Health and Wellness Center Manager since the facility opened in November, 2012.  In this role, he helps with scheduling and supervision of events in the facility including game management of all home athletic contests, the Men's and Women's Region Championship Basketball Tournaments, and the Women's Volleyball Region Championship Tournaments.  Rory has also held roles in Academic Advising for Anoka-Ramsey and Capella University.

As the HWC manager Rory coordinates with outside rental groups, as well as internal campus groups, in leasing use of the facility for practices, games, tournaments, and other events.

From 2008 - 2019 Rory served as an assistant men's basketball coach.

Prior to arriving at Anoka-Ramsey, Rory spent one season as the Assistant Coach at the University of Minnesota-Morris (UMM), two seasons as a Graduate Assistant at Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU), and one season as a Graduate Manager at North Dakota State University (NDSU).

In 14 seasons of coaching, Rory has been a part of only two sub-.500 teams (247-166 overall record) while learning from some of the Midwest's best coaches in Tim Miles (current San Jose State head coach), Greg Stemen, Paul Grove (UMM), and Ron Larson.

The 2016-2017 season turned out to be a special one as the Golden Rams recorded their best season in program history.  Anoka-Ramsey went 28-5 on their way to being MCAC Southern Division champions, as well as MCAC Tournament and Region XIII Tournament champions.  The Golden Rams were ranked in the top 10 nationally for the entire regular season and hit #1 in the polls for the first time in program history.  The team also earned the #1 seed in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament where they finished fourth.  Anoka-Ramsey ranked high in national statistics as well finishing the season 1st in made 3-point field goals (353 total; 10.7 per game), 12th in 3-point percentage (38.4), and 10th in points per game (90.3)

2013-2014 saw the Golden Rams win a then program-record 24 games, earn just the second Region XIII Championship in school history, and finish sixth in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.

In his first nine seasons on the bench Rory coordinated both the offense and defense at various times, while also serving as the recruiting coordinator, managing film breakdown, monitoring academics, and creating and updating the program's social media accounts, among other duties.

Under his tutelage, numerous Golden Rams have been named All-Division and All-MCAC.  Guard Trenton Pollard earned the Region XIII Tournament MVP in 2014, while guard Lemuel Doe was named to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament All-Tournament team in 2014.  Pollard was also named NJCAA Honorable Mention All-America in 2015.  In 2017, Mamadou Ngom was named Region XIII Tournament MVP and Edvonte Copeland was named to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament All-Tournament team.

Rory earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Justice Administration in 2004 from SMSU and his Master of Science degree in Education: Sports Leadership in 2007 from SMSU. Rory was a member of SMSU’s first NSIC Championship Men’s Basketball team in 2001. That team also won the school’s first North Central Region title and participated in the NCAA Elite Eight. A captain during his senior season (2003-2004), Rory finished his playing career ranked sixth in 3-point field goals made and sixth in 3-point field goals attempted in SMSU history.

Rory and his wife Ericka reside in Maple Grove, where Rory serves on the Osseo/Maple Grove Basketball Association (OMGBA) Board.  They have two children, Drew (13) and Jack (10).
