Peter Vang enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Men's Basketball program in 2023-24. Prior to Anoka-Ramsey, Vang was the head coach for the LambChops of the Twin Cities ProAm League where he led the team to the #1 seed in the playoffs.
Coach Vang assisted Coach El-Amin at St. Thomas Academy, and has coached at Bethel University, Osseo High School, and with the Minnesota Heat summer basketball program.
In addition to coaching, Vang has worked in player development for all ages including members of the NBA. He has experience with Synergy basketball software and is adept at scouting and post-game video analysis.
"I want to help Coach Khalid get as many wins as possible, and most importantly help these young men navigate life through the lessons of basketball," stated Vang.
Coach Vang is currently enrolled at Metropolitan State University in the MIS Graduate Program and works at U.S. Bancorp within Financial Systems. He is also a Sunday School teacher at St. Paul Hmong Alliance Church.
