Men's Basketball Picks Up Two Wins

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team picked up two wins over the weekend to improve to 2-1 overall on the season.

On Friday night the Golden Rams topped the North Central JV 81-76 after trailing by two at halftime.

Anoka-Ramsey survived by shooting 57.1 percent in the second half and forcing 17 second-half turnovers from North Central.

Ibrahim El-Amin scored 19 points while adding five rebounds and four steals.

Micah Adkins scored 17 points on 8 of 13 shooting to go with seven rebounds.

Chaz Franklin tallied 14 points on 5 of 9 from the field.

Against Northland, the game was tied at 48 midway thru the second half before the Golden Rams used a 17-5 run to pull away.

Adkins poured in 24 points and 14 rebounds making 8 of 11 from the field and 8 of 8 from the free throw line.

El-Amin scored 16 points, and Franklin chipped in 15 points.

Anoka-Ramsey hosts MN North Mesabi Range on Wednesday at 5:30pm.
