Golden Rams Beat M|State Fergus Falls 99-89

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team got back in the win column with a 99-89 victory over M|State Fergus Falls on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Rams survived a hot shooting night from the Spartans who knocked down 15 of 34 three-point attempts.  But the Golden Rams made 28 trips to the free throw line, converting 20 compared to just 6 of 14 for M|State.

Anoka-Ramsey also forced 17 turnovers while committing just seven.

The Spartans knocked down six threes early in the game to take a 24-21 lead before a 12-5 run but the Golden Rams back on top 33-29 with six minutes left in the first half.

M|State continued their hot shooting, and hit their tenth three of the half just before the halftime buzzer to pull within 46-44 at the break.

After a Spartan three to open the second half, Anoka-Ramsey used a 19-6 run to build a 65-53 lead.  Six different Golden Rams scored during the run.

Anoka-Ramsey still led by 11 with 2:21 to go before the Spartans made one final run, pulling within 93-89 with 36 seconds to play.  But the Golden Rams made six straight free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Nashiem Lozier poured in 29 points making 11 of 17 field goals to go with eight rebounds.

Dylan Hay scored 18 points off the bench making 5 of 9 shots and all six free throws.

Terrell Fountain scored 16 points, while D.J. Pettigrew chipped in with 14 points.

Anoka-Ramsey improves to 10-11 overall, 3-5 in the MCAC Southern Division.  Next up is another Saturday road trip, this time to Minnesota West on February 8th.
