Men's Basketball Breaks Skid, Beats Western Tech 80-69

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team snapped their four game skid with a 80-69 win over Western Tech on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Rams used a 14-0 run mid-way thru the first period to break the game open, going up 30-15 with 8:30 to go in the half before settling on a 43-25 halftime lead.

The lead grew to 20 points on a D.J. Pettigrew three early in the second half, then was extended to 27 points after five straight Pettigrew points and a free throw from Dylan Hay.

Western Tech started to chip away at the lead but failed to get any closer than the final 11 point margin.

Pettigrew scored 20 points in just 21 minutes of play, hitting 6 of 8 from three.

Nashiem Lozier and Terrell Fountain each scored 17 points.

Josiah Remus-Ford had a solid all-around game with eight points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

Anoka-Ramsey improves their record to 9-10 overall, 2-4 in the MCAC Southern Division.

Next up is a road trip to Riverland on Saturday, February 1st.
